Dave Friedman: Joining January to Help Change Debt Collection for Good

We’re so excited to announce the addition of Dave Friedman as the Vice President of Product at January!

Dave joins us after 5 years at Conductor where he was the Senior Director of Product, leading Product for the core platform team. Prior to his time at Conductor, he worked at Canary as Director of Product and oversaw the launch of their first flagship product, and at Microsoft on the Office 365 team building cloud email security solutions. We are thrilled to add Dave’s extensive experience working at B2B and B2C SaaS companies to our growing Product team!

We sat down with Dave to find out more about why he chose January and what he’s looking forward to now that he’s arrived:

Q: What got you excited about January?

A: “Honestly, I hadn’t heard of January before interviewing, and the fintech industry wasn’t on my radar. I did know I wanted to find a mission-based company solving interesting problems, which narrowed my search. When Vanessa Warlow, PHR, January’s Vice President of People, reached out about this role, the mission piqued my interest.

It’s easy for companies to list values on their website and ignore them in their day-to-day, but as I interviewed with January, it became very apparent to me that everyone here lives and breathes the values and puts in the effort to demonstrate them in their work day-to-day.”

Q: What are you most looking forward to?

A: "Right now, I am excited to dig in and learn deeply about all aspects of our business, industry, clients, and borrowers. I see the Product team's role as something other than strictly building and shipping the product; I want to integrate more parts of the business into our long-term product vision and strategy to deliver exceptional performance for our clients and a delightful product experience for borrowers that treats them with empathy and respect."
